This week’s Quick Tip is about sharing files online with Google Docs. Google Docs is yet another free tool in the Google line-up and includes a word processing utility much like Microsoft Word, and a spreadsheet very similar to Excel. There’s even a presentation tool and another to create online forms.
With Google Docs you can:
- Upload files from your desktop that you want to share, and save them there too
- Edit your documents anytime you’re online, from any web browser
- Share documents with friends, co-workers and control who has permission to make edits
I’m using Google Docs to:
- Track all my online accounts and the usernames and passwords associated with them
- Share marketing resources with fellow members of the Chicago Amer. Marketing Assn.
- Manage a go-live punch list for a client’s website launch
